This January 30 concluded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Cuban Cigar Appreciation Week as a heritage of Cuban culture, an exhibition led by the Master Cigar Roller Yaquelin Sosa Cuellar, from Habanos S. A.
For seven consecutive days, the Cuban cigar maker demonstrated her talent and expertise, rolling cigars of different sizes and characteristics and amazed the spectators who followed her demonstrations in seven locations in the capital of Malaysia.
The Embassy of Cuba in Kuala Lumpur and especially the ambassador, Florentino Batista González, participated in the demonstrations and referred to the importance of cigars as part of our culture and identity, a sample of Cubanness widely known throughout the world.
The event was organized jointly with Habanos S. A. and the distributor of Cuban cigars in Asia and the Pacific, Pacific Cigar Company.
Yaquelin Sosa Cuellar arrived in Malaysia after a successful tour of countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Japan, in which he represented the best of the Cuban cigar roller profession and offered master classes and live demonstrations for the numerous lovers and followers of Cuban cigars in Asia.
In the words of Eusebio Leal, one of Cuba's most recognized intellectuals and former historian of Havana, tobacco imposes itself as a culture, more than just a pleasure, "it is culture, which surrounds the universe of the Habano."
