Consul General Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta and the Tourism Counselor in this city, Lessner Gómez, were invited to participate in the annual meeting of the Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto (CCFA) held in September.

At the meeting chaired by Elizabeth Hill, the guidelines for the coming year were presented, the new executive was elected and a balance of the work done in the year that ended was made. Those present ratified their love and solidarity with the Cuban people, as well as their willingness to continue rejecting the US blockade and to sensitize the Canadian population to the reality of the Cuban people.

The Councilor for Tourism made a wide-ranging and interesting presentation on the tourism sector in Cuba and the impact of the blockade in that area. On his part, the Consul General thanked the organization on behalf of the Cuban people for all the expressions of affection and solidarity with our country which shows the world that just causes and dreams can be defended.
