Cuban Delegation participates in Expert Group on Synthetic Drugs Strategy.
Vienna, January 30, 2024. A Cuban delegation presents the national advances in the fight against the world drug problem, particularly synthetic drugs. The delegation, made up of officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of the Interior, exchanged with experts and delegates from several countries on this important issue.
During the meeting, the experts presented their positions on how best to deal with this problem that affects many in the world. The Cuban delegates emphasized the determination to maintain a zero tolerance policy on drug trafficking and to comply fully with the multilateral legal instruments on drugs approved by the United Nations.
They also defended the principles of prevention and education of society with popular participation; direct confrontation; the preparation and training of law enforcement forces and the application of an effective legal and judicial system.
