As part of the negotiations of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15), being held in the city of Montreal, the Cuban delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of CITMA, Adianez Taboada, actively participated in the High-Level Segment, being her speech the main activity of the day.
On December 16, the third ministerial consultation was held, during which our delegation reiterated its approach on that the goals should be global, based on scientific information, and ambitious but realistic.
On Saturday December 17 and Sunday December 18, the consultations are scheduled to resume again with the aim of continuing to bring the positions of the countries closer together, and to reflect the new approaches in the draft Strategic Framework.
Likewise, our delegation has participated in several activities that have allowed it to have a greater exchange with the CEO of the Global Environment Facility (GEF). In addition, the Cuban delegation attended fraternal exchanges with the Director General of UNESCO and with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Environment of Canada, who expressed their esteem and respect for Cuba.
