Cuban Deputy Prime Minister meets with his counterpart from St. Kitts and Nevis
Basseterre, September 18, 2023: As part of the visit to Saint Kitts and Nevis of the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, a cordial meeting was held with his local counterpart, the Honourable Dr. Geoffrey Hanley at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy.
The meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, was conducive to verifying the good state of relations between the two nations and the mutual interest in strengthening existing ties.
Higher education was at the centre of the exchange, as Dr. Hanley is also the Minister of Education of the Federation. In this sense, he expressed his gratitude for the scholarships that the Cuban government awards each year to young people from Saint Kitts and Nevis, while expressing his interest in exploring new possibilities for collaboration in this area.
The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his government's willingness to continue collaborating with sister nations in this and other fields, as needed.
Also participating in the exchange were Gustavo Daniel Véliz Olivares, Director of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Dr. Marcia Cobas Ruiz, Officer of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers and the Cuban Ambassador to San Christopher and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez.
