Cuban doctors and graduates in Cuba visit the rural community of Kwa-Zulu Natal

Kwa-Zulu Natal, November 17, 2018.- On November 15, a group of 16 South African medical students who returned from Cuba recently and who are receiving their training at Stanger Hospital, in the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, along with two Cuban collaborators and South African doctors graduated in Cuba, participated with the Provincial Director of Health, MEC Dr SM Dhlomo, in a campaign of visits homes, in the rural community of Kwa Ximba belonging to eThekwini.

The event allowed to identify families in need of medical and social help. The community and local leaders welcomed the participants with great enthusiasm and thanked the doctors for this initiative.
In the conclusions of the activity, the MEC of Health, Dr Dhlomo and other political leaders of the region, thanked Cuba, Fidel and Nelson Mandela for the success of the collaboration program between the two countries that allows South Africa today to have professionals from health formed in the principles of preventive and community medicine, which may have a positive impact on the health system of the country in the immediate future.
