Monrovia, October 28, 2020.- Sixty one years after his physical disappearance, the collective of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia pays tribute to the Commander of the Rebel Army Camilo Cienfuegos, known in the Caribbean island as the Hero of Yaguajay.
To honor his memory, lylas flowers walked along Tubman Boulevard in search of the sea as a symbolic gesture, hand in hand with the members of the diplomatic mission.
The homage ratified the commitment of the collective of the Embassy with the legacy of the heroes and martyrs of the Cuban Revolution, without yielding to the aggressions and threats of the enemies of the homeland.
On this day but 1959, on a return flight from Camaguey to Havana in a twin-engine plane, Camilo Cienfuegos disappeared in the middle of a storm.
"In the town," said Fidel, confirming his definitive loss after two weeks of incessant search, "there are many Camilos". "And Camilo will continue to live in other men like him, he will continue to live in the men who are inspired by him. Because the only thing we can ask of our people is that, every time the country finds itself in a difficult situation, in a moment of danger, they remember Camilo and every time our compatriots see that the road is long and difficult they remember Camilo, what he did, how he never lost faith in the most difficult moments and how he knew how to do great deeds".
