Cuban FM repeats denunciation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza

Havana, May 3 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Friday ratified Cuba’s condemnation of the genocide committed by the Israeli Government in Gaza, which has already claimed 34,622 Palestinian lives.

On his X profile, Rodríguez noted that 70 percent of the victims are women and children.

The head of Cuban diplomacy pointed out that 90 of Palestinians live below the poverty line, along with 37 million tons of debris from the bombings. He added that these figures are “cruel evidence of Israel’s genocide against Palestine.”

On Thursday, at a Solidarity Meeting with Cuba, President Miguel Díaz-Canel demanded the immediate membership of the State of Palestine as a full-fledged member of the United Nations.

Díaz-Canel stressed that nothing can justify Israel’s brutal escalation of the last six months, the serious violations of international law, and the crimes that have turned a strip of inhabited land into bloody training camps.

The Cuban head of State indicated that the UN Security Council must fulfill its mandate and end the impunity of Israel, the occupying power, before the questionable credibility of its resolutions, besieged by the imperial veto of the United States, ends up disappearing under rubble in Gaza.

Díaz-Canel recalled that Cuba has always express its solidarity with the Palestinian cause and currently hundreds of students from that Arab country are studying in Cuba.
