New York, September 22, 2024 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, from the plenary session of the Summit of the Future, warned today about the need of the peoples for less interference and more solidarity; less unequal exchange and more equity; less politicization and double standards and more dialogue, cooperation and respect for their right to choose their political, economic and social system, as an essential condition to ensure peaceful coexistence.
As part of the program to be fulfilled, Rodríguez Parrilla participated in the Interactive Dialogue 1 of the Summit of the Future, which was held under the theme “Transforming global governance and accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. In that space, the Cuban Foreign Minister cited essential elements to consider a truly transformative multilateral agenda, among which is the rejection of the application of unilateral coercive measures, incompatible with international law.
As part of the work program developed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Senegal, Montenegro, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Zambia and Mexico. In all cases, the good state of bilateral relations between our countries was noted and issues of bilateral and multilateral interest were exchanged. The Cuban side thanked the usual support of these countries against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.
