Monrovia, December 21, 2020 - Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera had a valuable exchange with the Special Representative of the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Babatunde Olanrewaju Ajisomo.
During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged on the internal situation of the West African country. It was an excellent opportunity to continue learning about Liberia and Africa.
The Cuban diplomat updated on Cuba's achievements in its fight against the pandemic at a time when the US has tightened the cruel blockade that for 60 years has affected all sectors of the life of the Cuban people.
For his part, Ambassador Ajisomo praised the role of the Cuban Medical Brigades in the world, highlighting the excellent work done by the members of the Henry Reeve Brigade in countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
H.E. Ajisomo has been a member of high-level delegations of ECOWAS in several West African member states, as well as international organizations, developing deep interests in issues related to politics, economics, humanitarian gender, and the broad spectrum of international relations.
ECOWAS is considered the most important organization of West Africa.
