Cuban Head of Mission participates in inauguration ceremony of the new Liberian President.

Monrovia, January 22, 2024 - The inauguration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung took place early this morning in the Liberian capital.

The historic event was attended by the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera who represented our nation as a member of the diplomatic corps accredited in the West African country.

The investiture took place at the Capitol of Monrovia and was attended by leaders and delegations from several countries.

Boakai and Koung Boakai were sworn in for a six-year term. The Liberian president promised to work for all citizens of the West African nation and called for "inclusiveness and reconciliation" in his inauguration speech.
