Monrovia, January 30, 2024 - Responding to an invitation extended by the Speaker of the Liberian Parliament Johnathan Fonati Koffa, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera attended the Annual Message ceremony of the President of the Republic of Liberia Joseph Nyuma Boakai to the 2nd Joint Session of the 55th Legislature.
This speech is of immense importance as it marks the unveiling of some of the President's crucial plans for the nation and is a fulfillment of Article 58 of the Liberian Constitution, which requires the President to address the nation through the people's Representatives and Senators on the fourth working Monday of January each year to elaborate on the administration's legislative program.
The said event took place at the Capitol in Monrovia and was attended by Government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps and other personalities.
