This year, the Global Theme: "WOMEN LEADERS: For an Equal Future in the World of COVID-19" and the National Theme: "Women in Leadership: Breaking Barriers in Dispensing a COVID-19 World" celebrated the tremendous efforts of women and girls around the world to forge a more equal future and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Women are on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, as health workers, caregivers, innovators and community organizers. Women leaders and women's organizations have demonstrated their skills, knowledge and networks to effectively lead COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. Today, it is more accepted than ever that women bring different experiences, perspectives and skills and make irreplaceable contributions to decisions, policies and laws that work best for all.
