Monrovia, October 1, 2020.- Invited by His Excellency Mr. Ren Yisheng, Ambassador of China in Liberia, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, participated in a virtual reception offered by the Embassy of China in Liberia to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia and other important government officials, personalities from different social sectors, representatives of international organizations and representatives of overseas companies financed by China and China in Liberia were present online.
Ambassador Ren outlined the main achievements made by China in the last year and especially, in confronting and controlling the #COVID19 pandemic, the solidarity between China and Africa and emphasized the importance of defending multilateralism and international cooperation in the face of the current challenges posed by the pandemic.
At the reception, guests watched the video clips produced by the embassy, which reflected the achievements of 71 years of China's development, the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and international cooperation against the epidemic, and enjoyed the wonderful martial arts performances recorded by the professors and students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Liberia.
