Kampala. On May 17 and 18, a delegation from the Higher Institute of International Relations of Cuba “Raúl Roa” (ISRI) made up by Dr. C. Leonel Caraballo Maqueira and Ambassador Eumelio Caballero Rodríguez, Vice Chancellor and Director of Relations Internationals of the Cuban teaching institution visited Uganda, as a conclusion of their tour of the African continent.
During their stay, they held meetings with Dr. James Nkata, General Director and the staff of the Institute of Management of Uganda and Mr. Andrew omona, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Christian University of Uganda and members of the staff of that university, institutions with which ISRI has bilateral cooperation agreements since last year 2023.
In two meetings, the advances experienced with the bilateral exchange of visits to Cuba and Uganda respectively and the immediate actions and mediated actions to undertake as part of the cooperation projects were reviewed.
Likewise, the delegation had the opportunity to exchange with students linked to international relations studies in Uganda, who with particular interest received the information offered by the delegation regarding postgraduate courses, diplomas, specialties, master's and doctorate, who teaches by ISRI, extensive to foreigners who meet the requirements established for it. This academic meeting culminated with touching words of friendship and solidarity with Cuba, pronounced by the Student spokesman, who, among other things, said that yesterday Cuba was present when his parents and grandparents needed his support in the battle against the yoke colonial; today is the new generation of African young people who must support the Cuban people in their continued fight against the unfair blockade of the United States.
