The Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Ms. Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya held a meeting with the President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Dr. Anton Zeilinger on 29 May 2017 in the morning.
It was a suitable encounter for revising the cooperation relations in the scientific field between Cuban and Austria, particularly, in the area of modern sciences and the advanced technologies. They made a brief overview of the steps forward in the implementation of the MoU signed by both countries in September 2015.
The memorandum extends until 2020 and aims at developing the scientific cooperation in all areas of Sciences and Humanities making possible exchanges for the execution of common research projects among scientific centers.
Dr. Zeilinger is a prominent physicist known by his contributions to science, especially, quantum computing. The Austrian Academy of Sciences´ mission is to promote sciences and humanities in all aspects and in every area. It was established through an Imperial Patent on 14 May 1847. It is considered the main institution in the field of non-university basic research since 1960.
