Harare, January 25, 2022. This morning, has held the swearing-in ceremony of the Electoral Commission of the Cuban Embassy in Zimbabwe, for the popular consultation on the Family Code. The Commission is integrated by: President, Carmelina Ramírez Rodríguez; Secretary, Yoisy Ford García; and Vocals, Bárbara María Reina Vargas and Yoandry Olay Mayedo.
Once again, the Cuban revolution demonstrates its integrating and inclusive capacity by carrying out a new popular debate process. Coherent with principles of the Constitution of the Republic, the Family Code optimizes principles and enshrines values, updates the different legal-family institutions. During the 8th Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its IX Legislature, the deputies approved the mentioned Code, the last step to be submitted to the popular debate.
