Cuban parliamentary delegation arrives in Vietnam

A delegation of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), headed by its secretary, Homero Acosta, arrived today in Vietnam for a five-day working visit.

The Cuban parliamentarians will hold official talks Tuesday with the secretary general and head of the Office of the Vietnamese legislative body, Bui Van, and a courtesy interview with leaders of the National Assembly of that Asian nation.

The Cuban delegation will attend Wednesday part of the debates of the 4th session of the 15th Legislature of the Vietnamese Parliament, whose deliberations will last until November 15.

The program of the working visit also includes the provinces of Da Nang and Can Tho, Thursday and Friday, respectively, to conclude on Saturday in the southern city of Ho Chi Minh City.

During their stay in those territories, the source says, the Cuban MPs will hold meetings with leaders of the Committees of the Communist Party of Vietnam and will visit socioeconomic centers of interest.

The Cuban delegation also includes deputy head of the Secretariat of the Parliament, Osmin Camejo; vice chairman of the Local Bodies Commission, Carlos Rafael Fuentes; and member of the International Relations Directorate, Omar Torres.
