The Cuban state mission in Saudi Arabia actively participated in the referendum

Riyadh, September 18th - The members of the Cuban state mission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia responded with enthusiasm to the call for actively participate in the referendum on the Family Code held abroad.

Organized in 16 electoral colleges scattered throughout the Saudi geography, which make up the Electoral District No. 65, the officials of the Embassy of Cuba in Riyadh and the health collaborators providing services in the Kingdom, exercised their right to vote during an intense day.

Several collaborators had to make a great effort to guarantee their attendance, due to the complexity of their professional work and because the plebiscite was held on Sunday, the first working day of the week in Saudi Arabia. For this reason, they had to coordinate to vote very early in the morning, so that it did not coincide with their labor hours and even in their own work centers.

In the case of the diplomatic mission, where College No. 1 was located, once the voters sang the notes of the National Anthem as part of the patriotic and ceremonial act, they proceeded to sign the corresponding register and exercise their direct and secret vote.

The members of the state mission attended this referendum aware that they are part of an important democratic, pluralistic and innovative process, which pretends to achieve the greatest possible social justice for all Cubans. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
