CUBANS AND OTHER LATIN AMERICANS CELEBRATE IN CYPRUS ON MAY 1ST.

A friendly and fraternal meeting was held at the premises of the Club Anagennisis of Nicosia, to celebrate the International Workers 'Day, with the participation of a representative number of Cuban and Latin American residents, members of the AKEL party and the Pan-Cyprus Workers' Organization.
As has already been done, the activity, sponsored by the Cuban Embassy, was also attended by members of the board of the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association and of Cypriot friends, as well as Venezuelan and foreign diplomats.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Aramis Fuente stressed the importance of the date and the massive participation of the Cuban people throughout the country, as a renewed and categorical support for the revolution and the construction of socialism in Cuba. He also stressed that this year's commemoration is celebrated by reaffirming the importance of the unity of the people as its main strength and in recognition of Cuban youth, heiress of the legacy of the historical leader of the revolution Fidel Castro Ruz and his unwavering spirit of struggle and combat. It also ratified solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their struggle against the constant aggressions of imperialism and internal reaction.
Also the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Rafael Pirela, and Stella Nicolau President of the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association had a speech about the importance of the date.
With the contagious joy of the participants the activity ended up enlivened by a Cuban musical group.
