During the 35th Congress of the Danish Communist Party celebrated on September 22 and 23 in Copenhagen, the genocidal blockade policy imposed by the US government against Cuba for almost six decades was rejected. In support of the Cuban people in the struggle for the lifting of this illegal policy, the president of the Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship Sven-Erik Simonsen called on all participants to join the marches against the blockade that will be held simultaneously in five cities of Denmark: Copenhagen, Odense, Kolding, Aarhus and Esbjerg. The call was also published in the Cuba Bladet magazine of the Association and on social networks.
The Danish friends will carry out these actions of denounce on October 17 as part of the campaign "We Have Memory. Solidarity vs Blockade", taking into account that the International Day of the fight against the blockade is being carried out nationally and internationally on the 17th of each month.
The ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas, was also present at the meeting and thanked the Danish friends for their solidarity in the fight against the unfair and criminal policy of economic, financial and commercial blockade that constitutes the main obstacle to the development of the Caribbean nation, while pointed out that the blockade has been tightened by the current US administration.
