Declaration of the Association of Cubans residing in Ireland "Ernesto Che Guevara".

Cease the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people.

On April 17 - date that marks the beginning of the defeat of the mercenary invasion of Playa Girón - was chosen by the United States Government to announce new sanctions against Cuba to intensify even more the commercial and financial economic blockade imposed by six decades .

These new sanctions seek to cause additional damage to the Cuban economy, are also directed against foreign companies that have freely chosen to do business in Cuba, which are threatens whith sanctions and lawsuits before US courts, but these new sanctions in a special and express way intend to punish Cuban families wherever they are.

At the closing of the North American consular office in Havana and the restriction of the granting of visas, the recent cancellation of visas for five years granted for family visits was added. Now travel to Cuba and remittances are once again restricted.

As Cubans living in Ireland we repudiate these new sanctions and add our voices to those from all corners of the planet who demand that the US government put an end to the cruel policy of blockade.

We join our voices with those of other communities of Cubans living in different countries and appeal to all governments, political forces, parliamentarians, honest and just people to once again lift the international clamor that demands the US government to end the blockade against the Cuban people, which the General Assembly of the United Nations in 27 resolutions has recognized as a violation of international law and the universally accepted principles for free trade.
