The Ambassador of Cuba, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, received at the headquarters of the Mission Mr. Ernesto Cooke, Journalist and Director of the popular Vincentian digital newspaper "News 784".
In the framework of a fraternal and lively exchange, the parties discussed numerous current Cuban and regional issues, the prospects for bilateral Cuban-Vicentine cooperation, as well as the growing presence of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in commercial fairs and investment forums held in Cuba, in the framework of efforts to strengthen economic, social, cultural and business integration among the Caribbean nations.
The parties condemned the US blockade against Cuba, the activation by the government of Donald Trump of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, as well as the most recent sanctions imposed by the US Executive against Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Ernesto Cooke, who formed part of the Mission of Caribbean journalists who traveled to Venezuela to transmit the truth about the brother country during the days prior to the attempted coup on February 23, 2019, expressed his joy at having been part of this interesting project and shared the unforgettable images of a hard-working, disciplined and peace-loving people, determined to resist and defend the Bolivarian Revolution.
The journalist referred to the importance of the Proclamation of the Latin America and the Caribbean Region as a Zone of Peace, an indispensable premise for the multifaceted and harmonious development of this community of nations as a whole.
