Georgetown, June 13, 2018. The Hon. Bharrat Jagdeo, General Secretary of the People's Progressive Party and Member of Parliament, received on Wednesday in his personal office the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, who is visiting Guyana with the aim of strengthening and expanding bilateral relations between the two Caribbean nations.
Both personalities highlighted the historical and fraternal friendship relations between Cuba and reaffirmed the mutual will to work towards its expansion. They also held a respectful and cordial exchange of views and opinions on various topics of the regional and international situation. The Cuban Vice-Chancellor thanked Hon. Bharrat Jagdeo for his position of solidarity and that of the PPP/C towards the Cuban people, especially the rejection of the United States blockade against the Caribbean Island.
