Canberra, December 2, 2022- The Cuban ambassador, Mr. Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, was received by Richard Marles, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Australia.
During the exchange, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, the positive state of bilateral relations, the cooperation in the multilateral field, and the opportunities to continue deepening ties in sectors such as biotechnology, health, renewable energies and education were highlighted.
Ambassador Lorenzo Rodríguez updated the Vice Prime Minister on the main issues related to Cuba.
On his part, the Deputy Prime Minister recalled, with satisfaction, his two visits to Cuba. The first visit in 2011 as Assistant Minister for Pacific Affairs and the second one in 2017 on a tourist trip with his family, which allowed him to get to closely know our country and its people, as well as the potential that both countries have to expand ties, especially triangular cooperation in areas of benefit for the Pacific Islands.
