The Cuban ambassador in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas, held a meeting with the vice president and member of the Presidium of the Danish Parliament Christian Juhl, who conveyed his support to Cuba in the fight against the illegal blockade imposed by the United States government. The diplomat handed him a copy of the Cuba’s report that includes the main effects caused by this genocidal policy on the Cuban people and expressed that the next voting on the Cuban resolution about the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the Island will take place on October 31 at the United Nations. In addition, the ambassador provided a broad explanation concerning the popular consultation process is being undertaken in Cuba for constitutional reform.
In this context it was reminded the solidarity initiative made by a group of Danes that crossed the Atlantic ocean by rowing to reach Cuba last May, who took with them a message of friendship and peace that was signed by 12 parliamentarians from different political parties represented in the Danish Parliament. The Danish rowers came back to Denmark with a message from the National Assemble of People’s Power (ANPP by its acronym in Spanish) that ratifies its interest to continue strengthening the friendship and cooperation between both Parliaments and people. The Deputy Speaker of the Danish parliament thanked the message from the Cuban Parliament and reiterated his willingness to continue making efforts to strengthening the bilateral relations in the parliamentary field.
