Díaz-Canel signs Book of Condolences at the Namibian embassy

Helsinki, February 14, 2025.- "With deep regret we received the sad news of the death of one of the best friends of the Cuban Revolution, His Excellency Dr. Sam Nujoma", wrote Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, in the Book of Condolences opened at the Namibian embassy in Havana.

The Presidency reported on its X account that the president expressed, on behalf of the Cuban Government and people, "the most heartfelt condolences for the physical loss of the founding father and first president of the sister Republic of Namibia, to his people and government, which we extend to his family and friends".

Official Mourning was declared in Cuba from 6:00 a.m. on February 10 until 12:00 midnight on February 11, 2025, and National Mourning on February 12, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 12 midnight in honor to His Excellency Dr. Sam Nujoma.
