Doctor graduated in Cuba returns to continue postgraduate studies.

Basseterre, April 11, 2022.- Kentisha Daley is a young doctor from the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis who graduated from medicine in Cuba. She returns to Cuba to carry out postgraduate studies, as part of the cooperation agreements between the Antillean island and CARICOM countries.

For the past two years, Dr. Kentisha Daley served as a physician at Alexandra Hospital in   Charlestown, on the island of Nevis, after studying in the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio. Today her desires to improve, together with the need of this country to have more qualified health personnel, contributed to the award of the scholarship in General Surgery, for which this young Caribbean woman opted.

On Monday morning Kentisha, who will travel to Santiago de Cuba in the coming days to continue her studies, received a farewell by Cuban Ambassador David Rivero Pérez and first Secretary Ivón Tomé Flis, who wished her success in this new stage of her career.

The young doctor is undoubtedly part of the maxim of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro who preaches about doctors trained in Cuba as "apostles and workers of a more human world", where saving lives and preserving health becomes the noblest of trades.
