Dr. Castro Díaz-Balart will begin an official visit to Iran

In response to an invitation from Sorena Sattari, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Science and Technology, Dr. Fidel Castro Díaz-Balart, Scientific Advisor to the Council of State and Vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, will begin an official visit to Tehran.

 

During his stay in the Persian nation, Castro Díaz-Balart will meet with several local authorities linked to the science and research fields to analyze the possibilities of bilateral collaboration with Cuba, particularly in biotechnology and nanotechnology. He will also visit different places of scientific, cultural and historical interest.

 

Cuba and Iran have historically maintained a close collaboration in the scientific sector, whose best expression was in the 1990s, when the Island made a major transfer of technology that allowed the Asian country to produce some types of vaccines. Iran currently has its own remarkable development.
