Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. February 17, 2020.- The pianist, composer, director of the “UB JAZZ CLUB” and President of the “Jazz of the Great Steppe” Festival of Ulaanbaatar, Mr. N. Ganbat, delivered today to the Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia, a thanks you letter addressed to the Cuban authorities of the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music for their successful participation in the International Festival “JAZZ Plaza-2020”. The festival is organized every year in the city of Havana and this year was on January 14 to 20.
During his visit, Mr. Ganbat participated in concerts of jazz music with professionals from Cuba, Africa and Europe, as well as the presentation of the Cuban legend Omara Portuondo. He performed music with artists from France and Germany, and received workshops on Cuban music as part of his program at the Festival. In the meeting with the Cuban Ambassador, he highlighted being very happy about his visit, which allowed him to obtain experiences and information to continue his goal of developing a professional jazz culture in Mongolia.
His stay included a meeting with the Director of International Relations, the Ministry of Culture, Rosa Teresa Rodríguez and with the Director of the National School of Music, Dulce Abon Mazar, with whom he exchanged his views on cooperation and mutual respect through the culture, traditional cultural education of the people and through music, training of music teachers, and Cuban jazz concerts during the celebration next August of the Festival "Jazz of the Great Steppe" in Ulaanbaatar.
