The Cuban Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia (FOCA) organized an evening dedicated to Cuban Culture this Friday, May 3.
The event was attended by FOCA members, and a group of ambassadors accredited to Malaysia, as well as figures from the foreign ministry and government of this Southeast Asian country, were also invited.
The night had an exhibition of Cuban cigars, the well-known Habanos, live Cuban music performed by Cuban musician Marcos Alonso de la Rosa and a participatory activity in which attendees demonstrated their knowledge about Cuba, as well as the history of its relations. with Malaysia.
During his welcoming remarks to the attendees, the president of the Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia, Fahmy SK Khai, said that it was very important for this group to keep Cuban culture alive, which is the first link that Malaysians discover with Cuba, whether through admiration for music or a taste for what he considered the best cigar in the world: the Habano.
The Cuban ambassador, Florentino Batista González, also addressed those present and thanked them for their constant support for Cuba over the years, while praising the work of the Association and the dedication of its members, who always lead everyone parts the message of Cuba and its people.
