Everything ready for the start of the Little League World Series.

Everything is ready today in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to start tomorrow, Wednesday, the Little League Baseball World Series with the participation of 20 teams, divided into two zones.

The under-12 teams from Santa Clara (Cuba), Cardenales de Lara (Venezuela), Matamoros (Mexico), Guayama (Puerto Rico) and Aruba, will represent Latin America in the international field in search of a ticket to the grand final, together with six qualified teams from other regions of the planet.

In the other section, according to the regulations implemented in 2022, 10 teams from the United States will battle each other in search of the other quota, in an event that celebrates its 77th anniversary and where the hosts have won on 37 occasions.

According to the competition schedule, the tournament is a double-elimination tournament, so the participating teams that suffer two defeats will have to return home.

Cuba made history last year when it made its debut in this tournament with the Alazanes de Granma and achieved its first victory before being eliminated, and this time -thanks to the automatic bids offered by the organizers on a rotating basis- it will be present with its national champions from Santa Clara.

Their first match is scheduled for Thursday at Volunteer Stadium at 5 p.m. ET against the Czech Republic, who qualified from the Europe-Africa region.

Earlier, on the same stage, the opening match between Japan and the Guayama team, champion of the Radames Lopez League of Puerto Rico, will be staged.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, in the opening match of the tournament, Mexico, winner of three crowns in these tournaments, and Aruba, the Caribbean title holder, will clash.

The winner of that match will play on Friday against Venezuela, a country that has two gold medals in these tournaments and qualified this year for the Latin American region.

In the last 2023 version, the U.S. team representing the city of El Segundo was proclaimed champion after defeating the Curaçao team from Willemstad 6-5.
