19 October 2023. At the end of the Spanish-speaking week at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), a conference was held on university cooperation between Cuba and Quebec in a multipolar world.
As part of the exchange, several books were presented that have been the fruit of collaboration between Canadian and Cuban teachers.
Likewise, the videos of the Cuban academics, professors of the University of Holguin, Salvador Escalante Batista and Vilma Páez Pérez were screened. They highlighted the exchange between the two countries in various areas and the role of women in all processes in Cuba, with special emphasis on the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was also shared with Cubans living in Montreal who attended the event.
The Consul General of Cuba in Montreal, Susana Malmierca Benitez, expressed her gratitude for the close ties between the UQAM and Cuban academic institutions and agreed to continue the collaboration between both nations.
