EXCHANGE OF VIEWS IN OTAWA ON THE RESULTS OF THE 4TH CONFERENCE ON THE NATION AND EMIGRATION

Ottawa - December 15, 2023. Members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Ottawa-Gatineau held a meeting at the Cuban Embassy in Canada to exchange views on the main results of the 4th Conference on the Nation and Emigration held in Havana last November. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Héctor Igarza, the Deputy Head of Mission, Dany Tur and the Consul, Mariset Vázquez.

During the meeting, Moraima Rodríguez, who attended the Conference on behalf of the Association of Cuban Residents in Ottawa-Gatineau, shared her experiences at the event. Likewise, the attendees highlighted the importance of this type of exchanges to consolidate the irreversible relationship between Cuba and its nationals abroad.

In addition, they highlighted the broad participation of Cubans living in various countries in the Conference, as well as its relevance, since it was attended by the main members of the party and the government of our country.

Special attention was paid to the new migratory measures announced by the country in relation to the passport, which were a demand of Cubans abroad and were positively welcomed by the Cuban community.

The occasion was propitious to celebrate the end of the year and to plan the main actions to be carried out in 2024, in which the 17th Meeting of Cubans living in Canada scheduled for May 2024 in Ottawa, Canada, stands out.

In an atmosphere of commitment to the homeland and its welfare, the participants reiterated their best wishes for the Cuban people on New Year's Eve and the New Year.
