Executives of the Liberian newspaper The Frontiers receives Charge d'Affaires of Cuba.

Monrovia, May 24, 2018-, On the afternoon of Thursday, the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, was received, along with the Second Secretary, Carmen Maury, at the headquarters of The Frontiers newspaper. He was welcomed by the Director General Mr. Tom Kaydor and his Editor in Chief, Mr. Dweh Wilson. The appointment is part of the actions deployed by the Cuban diplomatic mission to celebrate Africa Day.

The Cuban diplomat thanked the media professionals for the cordial welcome, as a possibility to discuss the work of this publication, which reaches 6 of the 15 counties in the country, including Montserrado, where the capital of the country is located: Monrovia and Nimba , the second most densely populated in Liberia. On the other hand, he made reference to several of the commemoration actions for the Africa Day that are taking place in Cuba, including a Central Act in the Cuban Chancellery, to which the initiatives deployed by the Cuban Embassies accredited in African nations are added. He mentioned the various ephemerides that will be remembered in this celebration, which constitutes a reaffirmation of the historical bonds of brotherhood between Cuba and the so-called "Black Continent".

For their part Kaydor and Wilson thanked the visit and offered valuable data on the origin, development, scope, editorial profile and characteristics of the publication, which is currently distributed three times a week. He also mentioned his recognition of Cuba for the social achievements and for its solidarity with the African peoples in their independence struggles and more recently in the battle against Ebola.
