Kuwait, January 10, 2025. The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal, paid an official visit to the State of Kuwait. During his stay in the country, the Cuban diplomat fulfilled a tight work program, which included meetings with Kuwaiti counterparts, visits to sites of historical interest and exchanges with Cuban collaborators in the country.
The Cuban deputy foreign minister was received at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, H.E. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Alahmad Alsabah, with whom he exchanged on the good state of bilateral relations and the existing potentialities to continue expanding ties in sectors of mutual interest. Likewise, at the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, he thanked and highlighted the significant participation of that institution in projects of social impact in Cuba. In addition, at the Ministry of Health, he ratified Cuba's willingness to expand cooperation with Kuwait in this sector. Finally, the First Deputy Minister had a pleasant exchange with the Cuban health collaborators in the country, to whom he recognized their professionalism and quality in the service they provide, which has made them worthy of the love and gratitude of the Kuwaiti people.
The First Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Kuwait, Alain Pérez Torres, Fernando Camejo, Head of the Office of the First Deputy Minister and Luis Javier Cabañas, Specialist of the Directorate of North Africa and Middle East of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
