Flowers are laid for Cubans who fell in Ethiopia on the 129th anniversary of the fall in combat of the apostle

Addis Ababa, May 19, 2024.- Members of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia together with the president of Casa de las Americas, Mr. Abel Prieto Jiménez and the dancers of the National Folkloric Ensemble of Cuba, visit the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Park on the 129th anniversary of the fall of José Martí in combat. 

In salute to the date, those present paid tribute to the 163 Cubans who fell on Ethiopian soil and laid wreaths at the base of the monuments that show the faces of the Cuban martyrs printed on copper.

The National Folkloric Ensemble and Mr. Abel Prieto were in Ethiopia as part of the Cuban delegation that participated in the Festival of the Great South sponsored by the Organization for Southern Cooperation.
