This July 23, the General Assembly of the Malaysian Association of Friendship with Cuba (FOCA) took place in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting was attended by the Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, who is an honorary member of the organization, and a group of Malaysian medical students who graduated from Cuba, who participated as observers.
As explained by the president of FOCA, Fahmy Khai, this association was founded after the visit to Malaysia of the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and since then the group has worked in solidarity with Cuba and as a promoter of cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries.
For his part, in his words of thanks to those present at the assembly, the Cuban ambassador stressed that the Association has been key to strengthening the bonds of friendship that unite our peoples.
In addition, he referred to the importance of the presence of young doctors graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), who are the best ambassadors of Cuba around the world.
On this date, which also served as a tribute to the upcoming anniversary of July 26, new members joined the organization and actions and events were planned for the last semester of 2022.
