"I admire Cuba and the Cuban Revolution in particular, for their solidarity and their commitment to the people who need it the most". This was how the Ambassador of Ghana in Liberia, Mr. Kodjo Asimeng Wadee, expressed it during a courtesy visit by the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera.
In a colloquial and relaxed atmosphere, both diplomats reviewed multiple aspects of the international political scene and of Cuba, in particular the repercussion and scope of the visit of the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, to the island in the middle of last month March. The Cuban representative reiterated the need for the US government to eliminate the genocidal political economic and commercial blockade against Cuba, as an indispensable condition to effectively achieve the normalization of relations between both countries.
For his part, the representative of Ghana highlighted the achievements of Cuban Health and Education. He also stressed the contribution of the Greater Antillean Islands in these fronts to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged and by the Cuban people themselves, an unforgettable experience of his diplomatic years in Havana.
