The Association of Ghanaian Graduates in Cuba (ESBECAN), within the framework of the celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, held a farewell activity to the Cuban Ambassador, Pedro L. Despaigne González and his wife, who conclude their mission in Ghana.
The event took place at the T-Havana Parks recreational center. A representation of the thousands of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba and the leadership of the ESBECAN attended; so did the ranking member of the Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Mr. Kwesi Pratt (jnr), leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG); Ms. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, Member of Parliament for the Salaga Sur constituency; Mr. Justice Henaku, Secretary of the SFG´s International Relations Committee and whose father was the first Ghanaian Ambassador to Cuba. So did graduate Dr. Hafez Adam Taher, in his capacity as Head of External Health Cooperation of the Ministry of Health. A representation from the Cuban Medical Brigade also attended. In their words, they all expressed their support for Cuba against the destabilization actions instigated by the US, as well as their rejection of the blockade that affects the normal development of the Cuban people.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked the warm farewell given, which he considered a recognition of what Cuba has done throughout these years, in order to strengthen relations between the two countries. He took the opportunity to point out that the destabilization maneuvers carried out against the Cuban people are part of the actions to overthrow the Cuban Revolution, but that they will always face the decision of the people to defend their socialist social development project.
