London, July 1st. - Cuban singer Haila María Mompié and her band began their European summer tour in the United Kingdom under the title “Llegó la Mompié”. Considered one of the best female son singers in the world, Haila took to the stage in London, on June 25, and at the Glastonbury Festival, on June 28.
In The Jazz Café, located in London’s Camden Town—famous for its alternative atmosphere and multicultural life—the Cuban singer’s performance made the British and Latin audience who came to enjoy her music vibrate and dance. In Glastonbury, Haila performed at Glasto Latino, the platform specialized in Afro-Caribbean and Latin music within the legendary Glastonbury Festival, considered the largest outdoor music event in the world, and sang for an audience that accompanied her and danced to the rhythm of her music.
Haila, a prominent figure within the timba and son, also has scheduled performances on other important European venues such as the Cubasanga and Bayamo festivals, both in France and in the Italian cities of Rome, Turin, Bari and Brindisi.
