Kuala Lumpur, January 28- The Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee accepted the nomination made by lawyer Antonio Paris, president of the Philippine Peace and Solidarity Council (PPSC), to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the International Contingent of Specialized Physicians in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics "Henry Reeve".
Among the reasons for nominating the brigade, Paris mentioned the work carried out by the brigade in 2020 to save more than 10,000 patients who contracted the Covid 19 virus in 38 foreign countries and to serve another 355,000 people affected by the pandemic.
He also highlighted the work that the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade has carried out in Africa, Asia and Latin America since its creation after floods, hurricanes and earthquakes.
He concluded his argument by underlining the altruism of the Henry Reeve Brigade, "All assistance provided to other countries was done without any objective of economic or political benefit."
