Auckland, New Zealand. The documentary " Cuba and Chernobyl”, which tells the story of the Cuban medical assistance programmefor victims of the nuclear accident that took place in Ukraine in 1986, fromwhich over 25,000 affected people were treated in the Tarara hospital, was presented in the national headquarters of the New Zealand "Unite” union.
Organized by the Cuba Friendship Society, the event was attended by over 30 people and was extraordinarily well received, encouraging numerous interventions and positive comments about the world-leading selfless assistance of Cubans. In this context, the historical medical cooperation of Cuba with other peoples of the world, including the most recent demonstrations of Cuban solidarity in the fight against Ebola in West Africa was highlighted; as was the remarkable contribution of the Caribbean island in the training of doctors of other nations, including young Pacific Islanders.
