New Delhi, April 19 2017. India may get benefits with the progress of Cuban biotechnology, one of the greatest achievements by Cuba after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959.Those were the words by Cuban expert Ibis Portuondo, sales manager from Cuban firm HERBER BIOTEC.
We are here to promote relations between Cuban and Indian companies in this field and to cooperate in joint projects, Ibis Portuondo Martínez, sales manager of the Cuban firm Heber Biotec, said in a conference at the Press Club of india
Among the examples she mentioned the Heberprot-P: a novel product in the world for treating advanced diabetic foot ulcer already tested and used in several countries.
Although we are a small country and of scarce resources, we achieved great fruits in the biotechnology thanks to the policy impelled by the Cuban government. In this sense, she emphasized the support and the vision of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, main guardian of the development of the scientific pole located in the capital of the Caribbean island.
As part of her along this South Asian nation, Portuondo met with businessmen and specialists from various Indian firms dedicated to biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, both in the capital and in other states of the country.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to India, Oscar Martinez Cordoves, revealed that Havana and New Delhimaintain conversations to sign an understanding memorandum in this sector.
Both parts are interested in reaching a mutually beneficial agreement, he specified.
