Inter-Regional Business Forum between Latin America and ASEAN countries took place in Malaysia

This weekend the Inter Regional Business Forum 2024 took place in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, with the theme "Empowering Raletions between Latin American-The Caribbean and Southeast Asian Countries".
Among the participants from nine Latin American countries, the Cuban panelist, Manuel Cumbrado Muñiz, Vice Director of the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in Cuba, ProCuba, stood out.
During the Forum, Manuel Cumbrado offered a presentation on investment possibilities in Cuba today, while actively participating in the Innovation and Collaboration panel: creating links in science, technology and innovation.
The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, also participated in this panel, who referred to the importance of collaboration between countries to use technologies to improve the quality of life of people and save time and resources in this endeavor. .
During the two days, the event has served to discuss strategic issues of commercial exchange between the countries of the two regions and issues of interest have been discussed such as trade in Halal products, development and exchange between small and medium-sized global companies, logistics and infrastructure as well as sustainable development and its compatibility with business practices.
Panelists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Malaysia participated in the event, while the audience was made up of members of chambers of commerce from ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Singapore, Laos , Philippines and authorities of the host country.
Also giving presentations during the event were Datuk Hanafi Sakri, Deputy Minister of the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, MITI, and Chairman of the Malaysian Import and Promotion Agency, MATRADE, Dato Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.
