International Human Rights Day in Toronto

The 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was celebrated in the city of Toronto, in an emotional event organized by the solidaritygroup "Toronto-Forum on Cuba".

The event was attended by members of solidarity organizations, intellectuals, artists and members of the Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto.

During the meeting, the participants condemned the genocide currently being committed by Israel in Gaza, which constitutes a violation of human rights against the Palestinian people. They also condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. on Cuba, a flagrant violation of human rights against our country.

The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos condemned all expressions of terrorist acts, Israel's genocide against Palestine and the criminal economic sanctions imposed by the US against Cuba.

Likewise, the Cuban diplomat reaffirmed that the government of our Island continues to build a fairer society, in which Cubans can fully enjoy all of their rights.
