Iran-Cuba Friendship Association joined in homage to Fidel and the Revolution

The city of Karaj was the seat of a new tribute to Fidel and to the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. This time, Iran-Cuba Friendship Association convened its affiliates there to receive members of the Cuban diplomatic mission, with the purpose of offering them their solidarity after the physical loss of the Commander-in-Chief and to commemorate a new anniversary of the 1959’s revolutionary triumph.

Iranian artists and intellectuals staged an allegorical day full of tributes, where they expressed through poems, paintings and speeches their aspirations for peace and justice in the world and highlighted the human and revolutionary values of Fidel. The Association’s president, Hadi Khansari, placed a book of condolences at the organization's headquarters, where everyone present expressed messages of admiration and affection to the Cuban leader.

For his part, Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada thanked those present for this genuine demonstration of respect and friendship, which Cuban diplomats accredited in Tehran receive. He also said that although on the upcoming January 1st we will celebrate for the first time the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution without the physical presence of our unquestionable guide, the occasion will be propitious to set greater challenges and to ratify the oath to continue his work.

The diplomat also pointed out that the best tribute to the Commander-in-Chief is to remember him with facts and to keep him present in every task we perform as revolutionaries. He added that this concept was recently ratified by the Cuban parliament, by making law Fidel's will of not giving his name or figure to public sites or institutions, which is an expression of his vocation as an exemplary revolutionary.
