Leaders of Trade Unions and Indian Communist Parties will participate in May Day in Cuba.

New Delhi, April 25 2016. Once again, the Indian solidarity movement reaffirmed its support for Cuba after confirming that two of his trade union leaders and members of the Communist parties of India will be present in our country on the occasion of May Day 2016 and to celebrate the 57th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution & 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the Cuban Workers` Trade Union Central (CTC) answering an invitation of this Cuban institution.

Ambassador Oscar Martinez Cordovés, received Mr. Narasinga Chandadi Rao, vice president of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in the state of Andhra Pradesh and president of several other state trade unions and member of the regional bureau of the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M), who was accompanied by the editor of CITU magazine in the capital Mrs. Aruna Novembe. During the friendly meeting at the Cuban Embassy the head of the diplomatic mission highlighted among other information the results of the recently concluded VII Congress of the Cuba Communist Party (PCC) and gave Rao Chandali a fraternal farewell.

They were informed as well that on behalf of India will also travel to Cuba with the same objective, Comrade Christoper Oswald Fonseca, National Secretary of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), General Secretary, Goa State Committee of AITUC and member of the leadership of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in that region.

Oswald Fonseca, like Rao Chandali will be carrying to Cuba, solidarity messages and information on the work of their organizations to reaffirm the ties of friendship between India-Cuba. Returning to his country they intend to develop an information work in media, trade unions and their respective political parties of sharing the experiences acquired in the grand international event of Cuban workers.(CubaMinrex Website- Embacuba India).
