Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association condemns terrorist acts against Cuba.

Monrovia, October 6, 2020 - Today, Day of the Victims of State Terrorism, our diplomatic headquarters in Liberia received a visit from the President of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association, Kesselee K. Kanneh, who was received by our Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.

Our Liberian friend was the bearer of a message condemning terrorist actions against Cuba orchestrated and financed by the United States for 60 years.

Representing the solidarity association, he condemned the terrorist attack committed by members of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and well-known mercenaries paid by Washington, on a day like today, 44 years ago, against a Cubana de Aviación plane in mid-flight, as it was taking off from Barbados with a final destination in Havana and whose perpetrators were never brought to justice for the crime.

In this atrocious crime, 73 innocent people lost their lives, mostly Cubans, including the young fencing team, and yet their murderers were never tried as they deserved.

For her part, the Cuban diplomat pointed out that similar criminal acts have been perpetrated against Cuba since the triumph of its Revolution and have not ceased until today.

She added that the most recent of all was the early morning attack on April 30th, on the Cuban Embassy in Washington, perpetrated by a citizen who fired a machine gun at the diplomatic headquarters. I declare that despite the continuous requests of the authorities in Havana for clarification of this action and for the trial of its author, the White House maintains absolute silence on this matter, which demonstrates the tolerance of the Trump administration with regard to the instigation of violence and hostility against Cuba by anti-Cuban politicians and extremist groups. This makes the US complicit once again in the terrorism that has victimized Cuba for 60 years.

The list of violent subversive actions from and in the United States against the largest of the Antilles is endless.
