Monrovia, May 26, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group made public, through an official statement, its support for the international campaign to nominate Cuban Medical Brigade Henry Reeve for the Nobel Peace Prize. In this way, it echoed the diverse voices that in different countries of the world make the request to grant this laurel to the Cuban medical collaborators who distribute solidarity through their health services, and today fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in all continents.
The declaration points out that the Cuban initiative, to create a contingent to help humanity in case of disaster situations and epidemic emergencies, has made it possible to provide quality health care to countries and communities in need, and has demonstrated for decades that health care can be definitively and permanently established at the international level, as an inalienable human right.
He added that, despite the many challenges imposed by the genocidal blockade, Cuba had done excellent medical work in various nations, delivering health and saving millions of lives.
It also indicates that this request for granting it would not only do justice but would also make it possible to confront the slanders raised by the United States against the work of Cuban medical collaboration.
For that purpose, a world platform has been created to twin efforts and promote the petition that exalts Cuba's internationalism in these difficult times that humanity is living through, and despite the cruel blockade currently being tightened by the United States.
This appeal has become a worldwide wave
